Introduction:

Greetings! My name is Dave Knight.  I am starting a blog as a hobby.  I have always enjoyed writing, and decided that if I want to become better I should start publishing content online.  I am used to writing to make a grade (college work) between my full-time job, parenting, and helping around the house.  It is quite a bit to juggle, but the family and I have made it fine so far.  Now that things are starting to slow down a bit, I will have more time to write for pure enjoyment.

A little about myself.  I work as a Safety Manager at a manufacturing company in North Central Indiana.  I stumbled upon the Safety and Health field during my 10+ year career in the United States Marine Corps when I was “voluntold” to be the Squadron Safety Non-Commissioned Officer.  Unlike most scenarios, I actually liked the collateral duty that had been forced upon me.  Safety Management practices will be a big part of what is published on my blog as it is my area of expertise, but I will surely play with some other topics that I have knowledge of (This is a hobby for me, remember?).

As far as family is concerned, I have a young daughter, a lovely wife of 10+ years, and a boxer dog.  We enjoy watching movies, playing with blocks, trying new foods, and attending our local church.  We lead a somewhat quiet life, but it suits us well.  We just simply enjoy spending quality time together (that goes for the dog too).

I have knowledge and expertise in a myriad of occupations and topics.  Some topics I plan on visiting in my blog are parenting from a father’s perspective, military aviation, military to civilian transition, job search success, quitting tobacco, politics, aviation operations, project management, military history, and horology (watch repair).
